The Aspers Casino in Newcastle was the destination for the 2nd Virgin weekend of poker fun and excitement on the 12th/13th April 2008. It was a cracking weekend and all the poker was played in a competitive but friendly spirit.
Winners
Local player Darren Laverick scooped the main prize of a whopping £7,500! Watched by scores of railbirds he was pushed all the way by Stewart Palethorpe who couldn't grumble with the £6000 he walked away with! Congratulations also go to Mark 'EMS_Jag' Allum for winning the Virgin STT Challenge which included 50,000 Virgin Atlantic Flying Club Miles as added value. 'Ladies in Poker' won massive bragging rights by triumphing in the forum challenge and Peter 'kazzka' Newton won the popular Sunday 'Terminator' tourney.
